23 Weeks!!

One more week till the 6 month mark! I feel like in this last week I have finally popped. Still have only gained 4 pounds so far but I am not complaining cuz baby boy is growing perfectly. The swelling is not bad at this point which is different than my pregnancy with James. Im starting to learn this baby's schedule of sleeping and being active. He is not at crazy active as James was. He is more calm and even his little kicks are more subtle than James were. This little guy is up a lot later than James was but he also lets me sleep in before he starts kicking my bladder lol. I could deal with that if he sticks to that once he is born. James really did stick to the same schedule once he was born. I hope this one dose the same :) I have been very busy with lots of stress. I am at one to two Dr. appointments a week. This whole kidney stent is kicking my butt. The pain has not let up and in fact landed me in the hospital being monitored on the OB floor this last weekend. The pain was worse than labor. I got IV antibiotics, IV fluids and an xray to be sure the stent was still in the right place. I was having a lot of contractions with the pain so I stayed on the monitor the entire time I was there. Things finally settled down and I went home. Followed up with one of the Drs in the practice yesterday and he is just as confused as I am to why I am still in so much pain. There was even talk about seeing a urologist at Froedtert. We will see. Right now I need to focus on keeping my days at work so that I don't mess up my short term disability for maternity leave......Update on the nursery... I think I am going with a white crib for baby. Even if someday the boys end up in the same room I feel like white will go better with James brown bed then finding a brown crib that is just off in color..... James is working on potty training and doing most of it himself. He is so proud of himself so far. He is going to be such a good big brother!

21 weeks!!

Here is a pic at 21 weeks.  Others can now feel the baby kick... He is not not as active as James was at this stage, so who knows maybe he will be my mellow baby. Lol I can hope right? When he is active he is all over. One minute he is on the right kicking away and the next minute he is all the way over to the left kicking away. This time I can tell that the placenta is anterior. It was like this with James too but James was so active it didn't seem to matter. This little guy I feel kicking much deeper. I can only feel him from the outside if he is all the way in the left corner.  My one scrub top is finally getting a little tight on the belly and this week a pt actually asked how far along I was without me saying I was expecting :) I know that I have bins of cloths from James infant cloths but I still have been having fun hitting the clearance racks to get this little guy some new cloths. I have been working crocheting a blanket for him. I have bedding for his room already and this last week I picked up a lamp that perfectly matches my navy blue star theme. I even got some navy bedding for the my twin bed that I plan to keep in the nursery for me to sleep in.  At the last couple of appointments his heart rate has been 150's much slower than James was but also fast for what they consider boy range lol. I have stayed off my heart meds so far this pregnancy so I am hoping that makes a difference for this little guys growth rates. I don't have my next high risk appointment until April. This week I see my reg OB Wednesday to schedule my stent placement for my kidney stone. The stent surgery will most likely be Thursday or Friday. I am extremely nervous. Its one thing when health problems only affect me but this affects the baby in the fact that it puts me at risk for preterm labor and I am way too early for that. So please keep baby in your prayers.
James had a check on the fluid on his ears today. The fluid is still there and it may be inevitable that he gets tubes placed. She is giving us another month to wait it out and see what happens. He doesn't seem to bothered by it right now and is not saying "what" as much. James is making big strides in the big boy/big brother department. This weekend we started wearing undies in between naps, travel and bedtime. He has had a couple accidents but he really likes all the new undies grandma bought him. He also helped Grandpa take the rails off the crib so now he sleeps in the big boy bed. I thought it might be a big transition for him but he took to it immediately. Has not tried to jump out in the middle of night once and he actually is putting up less of a fight to go down. So happy this was an easy move for him. Still not sure if I will be buying a new convertable crib for baby or if I will be trying to get James into a new toddler bed and giving the crib to the baby. We will have to just wait and see. One big boy step at a time :)

Its another Boy!!!

20 weeks with Baby Boy Redmond #2!!

So this picture is from 18 weeks 3 days! Im so excited to be pregnant again! I am even more excited that it is another boy.... I was not sure what I wanted till they told me it was a boy and suddenly I thought of all the names and room decorations. James is really excited to have a little friend to play with but he really wants the baby brother to come now. He doesn't get why he has to wait till summer.
So far this pregnancy has very different from the last. I found out of Nov 3rd and I was already 6 weeks at the time. I was really sick, Much worse than how I felt with James. I lost some weight and could barely eat anything. There was a lot of stress going on here so it was hard to really let this pregnancy sink in. The only thing was the constant nausea reminder. Getting up with James in the morning was hard when I could barely pull myself out of bed. The morning sickness started to subside during week 10. Met with my new OB that week who I absolutely love! Plan is the same as before only this time I am staying off the heart meds. I will be seeing the high risk again but will hopefully be delivering here in Kenosha as long as this little guy doesn't try to come early like James did. Second trimester I have been feeling better. I continued with the stress so I continued to loose weight. I was down to less than I weighed before getting pregnant with James and I was already 17 weeks pregnant. I had lost 7 pounds total but the Dr said it was ok as long as baby was growing well, which he is! I started feeling him move around week 16. Week 19 I was admitted to the hospital for 5 days for a kidney stone.... worse pain than labor!! Still in pain and there is still a possibility of still getting a stent placed. I have another ultrasound of my kidney tomorrow to check the swelling of that kidney. I have a Dr appointment Wednesday to discuss my options.
My parents have been coming down to watch James every other weekend while I work and he is really enjoying Grandma and Grandpa time. They have been a huge help with getting my house in order and my mom helped me go maternity cloths shopping the other weekend since I didn't have anything to wear!!  I promised myself I would look cute this time around. I am 20 weeks today and last night James and I went to target and I got a really cute lamp for the nursery that matches the bedding perfectly... I also got new bedding for the twin bed that I will be keeping in the nursery so that I can sleep next to the baby and he can sleep in his crib from the beginning. We plan to paint the walls of the nursery in a couple of weeks and then start moving some of the things from James room into the nursery. James will be getting a new dresser and hopefully a toddler bed. But is he doesn't agree to that Im thinking of just purchasing another convertable crib so that each boy can have a bed that grows with them ;) Now that I feel this little guy move more I am trying to really take in everything about this pregnancy since it almost most definitely be my last. And believe it or not but I really do enjoy being pregnant. Complications in all. As long as its a healthy baby in the end Im good.

Well it looks as though we may have skipped winter completely this year. This is a picture of James at the park on March 14th!! I can't believe we were in tee shirts! James is becoming such a big boy and walked all the way to the park and back... a little over .5 miles. I pushed an empty stroller for no reason :) About 2 weeks ago James got his first real sickness in his life. He got a bad case of croup and had to be put on steroids, I think they did the trick but they sure gave my kid roid rage lol. He was a beast and just didn't know what to do with himself. At James 18 month visit 2 months ago we had counted out that he knew 140 words. I think he is way over 200 now and counting. He is like a little Perot. He even says small sentences. Like "what happened" "where did it go" "I want elmo" Or I want anything for that matter. He also tells us when he has pooped "I pooped" lol. He has been successful on the potty a number of times but Mommy is in no hurry in that department. Titus is still looking for a job for next year and I just received my 5 year pin at the hospital. Right now I am looking forward to a lot of weddings and meeting up with Dave and Sarah and the boys this April!

Well I wont be adding a photo this time cuz I am on Titus work computer. Thought I would at least add an update while James is napping. We have been having a lot of fun lately with the weather finally getting nicer out. We are enjoying walks in the neighborhood and walks to the park. After the trip to MN over mothers day James now wears leather soled shoes that he is able to wear outside. I can't wait for the rest of summer, for walks down by the lake and playing on the beach. James is now 10 months old. I can't believe in 2 months he is going to be 1!!!!!! He has been walking since 8 months so sometimes he gets ahead of himself and hits a near run just before be tumbles to the ground. I think he is going to have to be a tough boy cuz he sure has mastered falling. He is also trying to speak more. His first official word after momma and dadda was "stinky" lol. I don't think he knows what he is saying but he started to saying after us when we were changing his diaper. He also now says "thank you" and "uh ooo" (or however you spell that). He uses those words appropriately . He says thank you sometimes when you hand him something and he he says uh oo when he drops something (or when he throws his ball lol). He also just started walking backward if he doesn't want to hand you something and he will throw a ball to you or hand you something if you ask for it. He now eats what we eat along with a couple of bottles a day. He has mastered the sippy cup and drink a full glass of water with supper every night. He even controls it now without throwing it across the room lol. Most of the time he sleeps through the night. (10pm till 8am) He takes about 2 naps a day. He is a very happy kid. I think thats it for James updates.
Titus is just finishing up the school year. We have a friends wedding to attend the first weekend of June and then Titus will be home the rest of the summer with James! I will be picking up more hours at work this summer and maybe even some night shifts (we will see ). I will try and add photos when I get back on my other computer.

Well this weekend the weather finally got warm enough to head to the park! James loved it. He squeeled and laughed on the swings and out little strong man loved hanging from the monkey bars! I can't wait till summer so that we can take more walks and trips to the park and even the beach! Lately it is non stop at our house. James is walking everywhere. We knew he might walk early because Titus and I were walking by 9 1/2 months but we never expected his first steps would be just a couple days before he turned 8 months! We can't keep him in one spot! This weekend the weather got up to 83! So while James napped on Sunday Titus and I went out and did some much needed lawn work. James is also very well behaved in public as long as mommy and daddy are close by. Friday we went out to dinner with Melissa and Matt and Matt's brother and his GF. James did really well. Sunday we took him to church and he even behaved there. He also made friends with the little boy behind us and was clapping with him and waving at hime throughout the whole mass :) I work most of this week, which means a couple of playdates at daycare! Other than that we are just patiently waiting James' new cousin arrival. Sarah is due April 30th!

Sorry I have not posted in almost a year!!! Hopefully I can find more time to post. Here is quick breif update. James was born July 14th 2010. He was born at 37 weeks. Labor went really well and I only pushed for about 25 mins. James has been a strong baby ever since he was born. Maybe it was the steriods I got during preterm labor. James was a little Jaundice after he was born so he had to be admitted to the pediatric unit at the hospital for a night under the bili lights. Once home we realized he had to be swaddled tightly anytime he went to sleep cuz his crazy movements would wake him up. Week2 : James rolled from his belly to his back. James could also hold his head up. This was not the snuggly baby I had expected. Week 4: James went on his first vacation to Algoma for Shanty Days! James met Great Grandma Schwedler! James also started smileing at people. 2Months: James loved sitting in the bumbo and using his swing! James was sleeping through the night and mommy and Daddy were getting ready to go back to work. 3Months: James loved holding weight on his legs. We also went our first wedding with James up north. James did well with Grandpa Bob and the hotel room. He slept the whole car ride! I had to do a lot of pumping to have enough supply for the weekend because I knew I would be very busy. 4Months: James loved to giggle. James loved his exersaucer! He was very content and smiley all day. I really enjoyed this stage. James was learning new things. Just before this month James began tripod sitting on his own! He was also starting to mast rolling over from his back to belly. He rolled all the time at 4 1/2 months. He also stopped sleeping through the night at 4 months. 5months: James was sitting up straighter and for longer times on his own. at 5 1/2 months James could sit alone, roll, and army crawl on his belly. He accomplished all of these the week of Christmas break. He was so proud of his new accomplishments. James also tried applesauce for the first time over Christmas. He loved it! At the end of the month we started sweet potatoes, squash, bananas and carrots. He loved them all! At this time we started putting James to bed in his crib in his own room. Daycare told us they used music so James goes to bed with the swaddle and music in his room. Sleepless nights were almost over. 6Months:James took his first plane ride to North Carolina with me and Melissa! He did better than mommy on the plane! James creeps on the floor all the time. He loves to also sit and play with his toys. He also started loveing peekaboo! 7Months: James' Uncle Dave Aunt Sarah and cousin Adam came to visit. James uses the high chair at restraunts so he can eat when we do now! James is still swaddled for bed but is sleeping great at night and is on a schedule when I work of going to bed at 10:40 and waking at 6 to eat and then back to bed sometimes till 8. At the end of this month James started crawling on his hands and knees. He is a very strong curious boy. 8Months: James crawls on hands and knees all the time now. James also took his first steps this month. At 8 1/2 months we are up to 15 baby steps! He is growing too fast. He pulls himself up on things and then lets go to walk over to something he wants. We went on our first mini vacation this month to schaumburg. James got to try out the pool. He loved it as long as the other people in the pool didnt get too close. James loves Cherrios and baby cookies. He is learning to drink from a sippy cup. James says Mama and Dadda. He loves to break out of his swaddle and he loves standing in his crib. We bought a stroller for spring walks and even got him to the park once already to try out the swings there. He still enjoys his exersaucer. He has really bad seperation anxiety and hope he grows out of that in the next month or so cuz it breaks my heart to have scream and cry every time I walk out of the room or drop him off at daycare! ----Thats it for the month by month update. I will try to update more often with whats going on at the Redmond house!
